Salzburg Photos: Anton Neumayr Platz
return to "winter
photos 2"
The Anton-Neumayr-Platz is a square in the
Old Town or Altstadt of Salzburg and known for the picturesque array of Medieval and Baroque town houses that are
built directly into the rock of Mount Mönchsberg. Here you will also find the
entrance to the Mönchsbergaufzug, which takes visitors directly to the
Museum
der Moderne (Museum of Modern Art). At Anton-Neumayr-Platz itself, you will not
only find the fountain depicted in this photo, but also several cafes, bars and
restaurants. During the - admittedly short - summer season, the square turns
into an open-air cafe/bar area, despite of the rather high levels of traffic
that passes the piazza.
