Salzburg Photos: Fortress or Castle

One of our favourite pictures, taken in early summer 2008, after an untypically
cold spring: The Festung Hohensalzburg Fortress
sitting above the Old Town; the
famous spires are covered by trees, but you can see the snow white mountain tops
of the the Untersberg and the Göll mountain range on the horizon. The picture
was taken from the Kapuzinerberg on a hike along the old 17th century city walls.
This walk is slightly more demanding than similar ones along other hills of
Salzburg, but exceptionally rewarding with respect to vistas on the Altstadt
(Old Town) - as you can see in this picture.
